This easy baked salmon recipe features tender fillets coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze. Ready in under 30 minutes, it’s a crowd-pleasing dinner perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each, skin on or off)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari/coconut aminos for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced (optional, for garnish)
  • Pinch chili flakes (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet or shallow baking dish with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them skin-side down (if skin-on) in the prepared dish.
  4. Spoon or brush the honey garlic glaze generously over each fillet, coating all sides. Reserve a tablespoon of glaze for finishing, if desired.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on thickness, until salmon flakes easily with a fork and glaze is bubbling.
  6. Optional: Broil for the last 2–3 minutes for caramelized glaze. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  7. Remove salmon from oven. Brush with reserved glaze and sprinkle with sesame seeds, green onions, or chili flakes if desired.
  8. Let rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.

Notes

For gluten-free, use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce. If glaze is too thin, simmer briefly to thicken. Broil for crisp edges, but watch closely. Uniform fillet size ensures even cooking. Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days and can be frozen for up to 2 months.
