  • 2 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/2 cup cooked broccoli or cauliflower florets

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain and crumble once cool.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, soften the cream cheese by stirring vigorously or using a hand mixer until smooth.
  4. Add the ranch dressing mix, sour cream, garlic powder, and black pepper to the cream cheese. Stir until fully combined and smooth.
  5. Fold in the shredded chicken, half the crumbled bacon, and green onions. If using, fold in cooked broccoli or cauliflower florets.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top, then scatter the remaining bacon over the cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, until bubbly around the edges and the cheese melts and begins to brown.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow flavors to settle and make slicing easier.
