A quick and easy whipped coffee recipe that creates a fluffy, creamy coffee foam to top your milk, perfect for a sweet morning boost or chilled afternoon refresher.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee (recommend Nescafé)
  • 2 tablespoons white granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hot water (just boiled)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk of choice (whole, almond, oat, or coconut milk)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for serving chilled)

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 tablespoons instant coffee, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 2 tablespoons hot water in a mixing bowl. This should take about 1 minute.
  2. Using an electric mixer on medium-high speed, whip the mixture for 3 to 5 minutes until pale, glossy, and thick enough to hold stiff peaks.
  3. Fill a serving glass with 1 cup (240 ml) cold milk and add ice cubes if desired. You can warm the milk instead if you prefer a hot drink. Allow 1 minute for this step.
  4. Spoon the whipped coffee foam gently over the milk, creating a layered effect. Do not mix immediately; enjoy the fluffy top.
  5. Optional: Sprinkle a pinch of cocoa powder or cinnamon on top for extra flavor and visual appeal.

Notes

Use instant coffee only for best results. Hot water should be just off the boil to dissolve coffee and sugar properly. Whip until stiff peaks form to avoid a soupy texture. Chilling the bowl and beaters can speed up whipping and stabilize foam. Whipped coffee is best served immediately but can hold shape for up to an hour in the fridge. Clean tools immediately after use to avoid hardened residue.
