A quick and easy appetizer featuring jalapeños stuffed with creamy seasoned cream cheese, wrapped in crispy bacon for a perfect balance of creamy, smoky, and spicy flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 medium fresh jalapeños
  • 8 oz (225g) full-fat softened cream cheese
  • 12 slices thin-cut bacon
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/2 cup (55g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Optional: 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro or chives

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and dry the jalapeños. Cut them in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out the seeds and membranes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth. Fold in cheddar cheese or herbs if using.
  4. Generously fill each jalapeño half with the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Cut each bacon slice in half. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño half with a bacon piece, securing with a toothpick if needed.
  6. Place the wrapped poppers on a rimmed baking sheet or wire rack, leaving space between them.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until the bacon is crispy and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Let poppers cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Wear gloves or wash hands thoroughly after handling jalapeños to avoid irritation. Flip poppers halfway through baking for even crispiness. Use thin-cut bacon for best results. For crispier bacon, place poppers on a wire rack over the baking sheet. Assemble ahead but bake fresh for best texture. To reheat leftovers, bake at 375°F for 10 minutes; avoid microwaving to prevent soggy bacon.
