A quick and easy recipe transforming frozen cinnamon rolls into crispy waffles topped with a smooth vanilla glaze, perfect for a cozy and indulgent breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Pre-made cinnamon rolls (about 8 ounces or 227 grams each)
  • 2 tablespoons (28 grams) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (120 grams) powdered sugar, sifted
  • 23 tablespoons (3045 ml) milk (whole, 2%, or dairy-free alternatives like almond or oat milk)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle maker to medium-high heat (around 375°F or 190°C) and let it warm up fully.
  2. Remove cinnamon rolls from packaging. If frozen, no need to thaw; add 2-3 extra minutes to cooking time.
  3. Lightly brush melted unsalted butter on each cinnamon roll to help create a golden, crispy exterior.
  4. Place one cinnamon roll in the center of each preheated waffle square and close the lid gently but firmly.
  5. Cook for about 5-7 minutes (7-9 minutes if frozen), checking around 5 minutes for desired crispiness. The waffle should be golden brown, crisp outside, and soft inside.
  6. Carefully remove the waffle using a silicone spatula or tongs and let it rest for a minute to firm up.
  7. While waffles cook, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon (if using), and a pinch of salt until smooth and pourable. Adjust milk quantity for preferred glaze thickness.
  8. Drizzle generous amounts of vanilla glaze over the warm waffles and serve immediately.

Notes

Brush cinnamon rolls with melted butter before cooking to ensure a crispy crust. Adjust glaze thickness to avoid sogginess. Frozen rolls require slightly longer cooking time. Clean waffle maker regularly to prevent sticking from sugar caramelization. For dairy-free glaze, substitute milk with almond, oat, or coconut milk.
