A quick and easy breakfast ring made with flaky crescent roll dough, crispy bacon, and melted cheese, perfect for busy mornings or casual brunch gatherings.

  • 2 cans (8 oz / 227 g each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked crispy and chopped
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 large eggs, beaten (for brushing dough)
  • 2 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
  2. Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Drain on paper towels and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles. Arrange in a circular pattern on the baking sheet with wide ends overlapping in the center and points facing outward to form a sun shape.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese evenly over the wide ends of the dough circle. Add chopped bacon and green onions, then top with remaining cheese. Optionally sprinkle garlic powder and black pepper.
  5. Fold the pointed ends of the dough over the filling, tucking them under the wide ends in the center to seal and create a ring.
  6. Brush the top with beaten eggs and melted butter for a golden, crispy finish.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed, golden brown, and crispy.
  8. Cool slightly before slicing to allow cheese to set and keep the ring intact.

Ensure bacon is fully cooked and crispy before adding to prevent soggy dough. Overlap crescent roll triangles just enough to hold filling but avoid dense center. Brushing with egg wash and melted butter is key for golden, crispy crust. Use serrated knife or kitchen scissors for clean slicing.
