  • 1 ball of pizza dough (about 12 oz / 340 g), store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 oz pepperoni slices (about 20 slices)
  • 3 oz cooked Italian sausage, crumbled
  • 3 oz cooked bacon, chopped
  • 2 oz sliced ham or prosciutto (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place your pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up for about 30 minutes.
  2. Lightly flour your work surface and stretch the pizza dough into a 12-inch (30 cm) circle. Let it rest for 5 minutes if it resists stretching.
  3. Brush the edges lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and a pinch of salt.
  4. Warm the tomato sauce with oregano, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan or microwave.
  5. Spread the warm sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about 1 inch (2.5 cm) around the edges bare.
  6. Sprinkle 1 1/4 cups of mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  7. Layer the pepperoni slices, crumbled sausage, chopped bacon, and ham/prosciutto evenly over the cheese.
  8. Add the remaining 1/4 cup mozzarella and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated stone or baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and crisp and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.
  10. Remove from oven and let rest for 3-5 minutes.
  11. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if using, slice, and serve.

Notes

Preheat the baking surface for at least 30 minutes for a crispy crust. Avoid overloading toppings to prevent sogginess. Warm the sauce slightly before spreading. Let the dough rest if it resists stretching. Tent with foil if edges brown too fast. For extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end but watch closely.
