A quick and fun Halloween snack featuring hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough strips baked to a golden, crispy finish with playful ‘mummy’ eyes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • 8 regular-sized hot dogs or 16 mini cocktail sausages (beef, turkey, or vegan)
  • Mustard or ketchup for decorating eyes
  • Optional: pinch of garlic powder or smoked paprika
  • Optional: melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface and gently press seams together to make one solid sheet.
  3. Cut the dough into thin strips about 1/4 inch wide.
  4. Wrap each hot dog or mini sausage loosely with the dough strips, leaving small gaps to create the mummy effect. Overlap strips unevenly.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  6. Add the eyes by dotting tiny amounts of mustard or ketchup on the exposed hot dog parts using a toothpick.
  7. Optionally brush the dough lightly with melted butter for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is puffed and golden brown, watching closely after 10 minutes to avoid over-browning.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Cut dough strips thin but sturdy to avoid tearing. Wrap loosely to allow dough to puff and bake crispy. Use parchment paper to keep bottoms crisp and ease cleanup. Watch baking time closely to prevent burning. Mummies can be wrapped ahead and refrigerated or frozen before baking.
