A quick and easy snack featuring crispy toast coated with melted butter and a flavorful everything seasoning blend, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices sturdy white or sourdough bread (day-old bread works best)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (toasted)
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
  • Optional: pinch of crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Prepare the everything seasoning mix by combining toasted sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried minced garlic, dried minced onion, coarse sea salt, and optional crushed red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  3. Melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter gently until just liquid, being careful not to brown it.
  4. Cut bread slices into halves or quarters depending on preferred snack size.
  5. Place bread pieces in a mixing bowl and pour melted butter over them. Toss gently but thoroughly to coat every piece.
  6. Sprinkle the everything seasoning evenly over the buttered bread pieces and toss again to coat.
  7. Arrange bread pieces in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out for even heat circulation.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and crisp, shaking or flipping pieces halfway through baking.
  9. Remove from oven and transfer toast pieces to a cooling rack to maintain crispiness. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use day-old bread for best crunch. Toast sesame seeds for extra nuttiness. Toss bread with melted butter before seasoning to ensure the seasoning sticks well. Use a cooling rack after baking to keep toast crispy. Adjust baking time or temperature if toast isn’t crisping enough.
