A quick and easy spicy peach salsa combining sweet peaches, jalapeño heat, and fresh cilantro for a vibrant, crowd-pleasing dip or topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium fresh peaches, peeled and diced
  • 1 medium jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons red onion, finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel the peaches if desired and dice into roughly ½-inch pieces (about 2 cups).
  2. Slice the jalapeño in half lengthwise, remove seeds if less heat is desired, and finely dice.
  3. Finely dice 2 tablespoons of red onion.
  4. Roughly chop ¼ cup of fresh cilantro leaves, avoiding thick stems.
  5. In a medium mixing bowl, combine diced peaches, jalapeño, red onion, and cilantro.
  6. Add 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice, ½ teaspoon salt, and a pinch of black pepper. Stir gently to combine without breaking down the peaches.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness with 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup if needed. Adjust salt or lime juice to preference.
  8. Let the salsa sit for 10-15 minutes at room temperature to allow flavors to meld, or refrigerate for a cooler option before serving.

Notes

For milder salsa, remove jalapeño seeds or use less pepper. For more heat, leave seeds in or add cayenne. Let salsa rest for at least 10 minutes to meld flavors. Use firm ripe peaches for best texture. Can substitute nectarines, mangoes, or pineapple for peaches. Store leftovers in airtight container refrigerated up to 2 days; do not freeze.
