A quick and easy recipe for buttery, garlicky sautéed mushrooms inspired by Texas Roadhouse. Perfect as a side dish or topping for steaks, burgers, and more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Baby Bella Mushrooms or White Button Mushrooms, sliced into ¼-inch thick pieces
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • ¼ cup white wine or chicken/vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Gently wipe mushrooms clean with a damp paper towel and slice into ¼-inch thick pieces.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Let the butter melt and foam slightly.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet in a single layer. Stir occasionally and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and juices are released.
  4. Lower the heat slightly and add 2 teaspoons of minced garlic. Stir frequently and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in ¼ cup of white wine or broth and scrape the bottom of the pan to release flavorful bits. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced.
  6. Stir in 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped parsley for garnish.
  8. Remove from heat and serve immediately as a side dish or topping.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure mushrooms sauté properly. Deglaze the pan for extra flavor and adjust seasoning to taste.
