A quick, healthy, and creamy frozen dessert made from frozen fruit and banana, perfect for summer and guilt-free indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (450g) frozen fruit blend (strawberries, mango, blueberries, or mixed berries)
  • 1 large ripe banana, peeled and frozen
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts (almonds or pistachios), fresh berries, dark chocolate chips, shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Make sure your banana and fruit are fully frozen (at least 4 hours or overnight).
  2. Place frozen fruit, frozen banana chunks, almond milk, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and maple syrup (if using) into a high-speed blender or food processor.
  3. Pulse the mixture in short bursts for 1-2 minutes to break down the frozen fruit.
  4. Scrape down the sides with a spatula and blend at medium-high speed until creamy and soft-serve consistency is achieved. Add a splash more almond milk if needed, but avoid making it runny.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more maple syrup or honey if desired, then blend briefly to combine.
  6. Serve immediately for soft-serve texture or transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 1-2 hours for a firmer texture. Let soften at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before scooping if frozen.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for natural sweetness and creaminess. Avoid adding too much liquid to prevent a smoothie texture. Pulse before blending to protect your blender. Scrape sides often for even blending. Let frozen fruit sit out 5 minutes if blender struggles. Freeze banana in chunks for faster blending.
