Irresistible Garlic Butter Bread Rolls

Soft, fluffy, and packed with rich garlic butter flavor, these homemade bread rolls are perfect for any occasion and surprisingly easy to make.

  • 3 3/4 cups (450 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons (24 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (6 g) salt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) warm milk
  • 1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon (5 g) chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Warm 1 cup (240 ml) of milk to about 110°F (43°C). Stir in 1 tablespoon (12 g) of sugar and 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) of instant yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 3/4 cups (450 g) of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon (6 g) of salt, and the remaining sugar.
  3. Gradually pour the yeast mixture into the dry ingredients. Add 1 large egg and 1/4 cup (60 g) of melted unsalted butter. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If sticky, add a little more flour, 1 tablespoon at a time.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30-40 minutes until puffy.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 18-22 minutes, until golden brown.
  9. While the rolls are baking, melt 1/4 cup (60 g) of unsalted butter in a small saucepan. Stir in 3 cloves of minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add 1 tablespoon (5 g) of chopped fresh parsley.
  10. As soon as the rolls come out of the oven, generously brush them with the garlic butter. Serve warm and enjoy!
