A festive treat combining tangy cranberry sauce and rich chocolate, perfect for holidays, gifting, or simple indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce, chilled
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
  • Sea salt, a pinch
  • Optional toppings: crushed pistachios, holiday sprinkles, or shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Scoop chilled cranberry sauce into small, bite-sized portions (about 1 tablespoon each). Shape them into rough balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 15 minutes to firm up.
  2. Combine dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in a double boiler over medium heat. Stir continuously until the chocolate melts into a smooth, glossy mixture. Alternatively, use a microwave and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each round.
  3. Using a fork or dipping tool, coat each frozen cranberry ball in melted chocolate. Let the excess drip off, then place it back onto the parchment-lined sheet.
  4. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle crushed pistachios, holiday sprinkles, or a pinch of sea salt on top. Dust lightly with powdered sugar once the chocolate sets, if desired.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes to let the chocolate harden completely.
  6. Once the chocolate is firm, transfer the treats to a serving platter or store them in an airtight container.

Notes

Freeze the cranberry sauce for easy dipping and shaping. Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. Experiment with toppings like crushed nuts or sprinkles for added texture and visual appeal.
