Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease your baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, softened butter, and salt. Mix until the dough comes together—it should be crumbly but hold its shape when pressed. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the baking dish. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until lightly golden. Set aside.
  3. If using whole dried lavender, grind it finely using a food processor or mortar and pestle. Alternatively, steep it in a small amount of hot water for a subtler flavor and strain out the solids.
