  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (57 g)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (360 g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup patriotic sprinkles (red, white, and blue, about 75 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine funfetti cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Stir gently until just combined.
  3. Pour batter evenly into prepared baking dish. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. While cake is warm but cool enough to handle, poke holes about 1 inch apart all over the surface using a wooden skewer or spoon handle.
  5. Slowly pour the entire can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
  6. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  7. In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese and butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until smooth and fluffy.
  8. Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the chilled cake. Sprinkle patriotic sprinkles generously on top.
  9. Let the cake sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
