This silky smooth peppermint fudge combines creamy chocolate with a festive crunch, making it the perfect holiday treat for gifting, sharing, or enjoying yourself.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk and butter over medium heat. Stir frequently until the butter melts and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips to the saucepan. Stir until completely melted and combined. (If the mixture looks too thick, add a splash of milk.)
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the peppermint extract and a pinch of salt. Taste and adjust peppermint flavor if needed.
  5. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, smoothing it out with a spatula.
  6. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes evenly over the top, pressing them lightly into the fudge.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm. For quicker results, pop it into the freezer for 45 minutes.
  8. Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment overhang. Slice into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh candy canes for optimal crunch and color. Chill thoroughly before cutting to avoid crumbling. For clean cuts, dip your knife in warm water and dry it between slices.
