Instructions

  1. Make the Sugar Cookie Dough: In a large bowl, beat 1 cup softened butter and 1 cup sugar with a mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes. Add 1 large egg and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon baking powder, and ¼ teaspoon salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until a soft dough forms. Adjust with milk or flour if needed.
