A timeless classic lemonade recipe with the perfect balance of tangy lemon juice, subtle sweetness, and icy coolness. Quick, easy, and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium-sized fresh lemons (about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 45 cups water
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Fresh mint leaves, sliced lemons for garnish, or berries

Instructions

  1. Roll your lemons on the countertop to release the juices, then slice them in half. Juice them using a citrus juicer or reamer until you have about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice (around 6 lemons).
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. In a large pitcher, pour the cooled simple syrup and the fresh lemon juice. Stir well.
  4. Pour in 3–4 cups of cold water, adjusting to taste. If you prefer a stronger lemon flavor, use less water; for a milder version, add more.
  5. Add plenty of ice cubes to the pitcher and stir gently. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or serve immediately if you’re in a rush.
  6. Optional garnishes: Add fresh mint leaves, lemon slices, or even a handful of berries for extra flair.

Notes

Taste your lemonade before serving and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed. Chill for best flavor and consider doubling the recipe for gatherings.
