A quick and easy iced coffee recipe featuring strong brewed coffee, creamy milk or cream, and luscious caramel swirls for a refreshing and indulgent summer treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk or cream (whole milk or half-and-half recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 grams) sugar or sweetener (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 cup (240 ml) of strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature or chill in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Gently warm 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of caramel sauce in a small saucepan over low heat for about 1 minute, stirring continually.
  3. Fill a tall glass to the brim with ice cubes.
  4. Slowly pour the cooled coffee over the ice until the glass is about three-quarters full (around 180 ml).
  5. Pour ½ cup (120 ml) of milk or cream gently into the glass.
  6. Drizzle the warmed caramel sauce along the inside of the glass or over the top and swirl gently with a spoon or stir stick without overmixing.
  7. Add ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon (5 grams) sugar or sweetener if desired, and stir gently to combine.
  8. Taste and adjust sweetness or milk as needed. Optionally, add a little more caramel on top for extra indulgence.
  9. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

Warm the caramel sauce slightly before adding to prevent clumping and sinking. Use freshly brewed coffee cooled completely for best flavor. Be gentle when swirling caramel to keep the ribbons visible. For dairy-free, substitute milk with almond, oat, or coconut milk and use dairy-free caramel sauce.
