A quick and easy iced matcha latte made with ceremonial-grade matcha powder, creamy oat milk, and a hint of vanilla for a refreshing and subtly sweet drink perfect for hot days or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to teaspoons ceremonial-grade matcha powder
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) hot water, about 175°F (80°C)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) creamy oat milk, chilled
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons maple syrup, honey, or agave syrup (optional)
  • Ice cubes, enough to fill the glass

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 ounces (60 ml) of water to about 175°F (80°C), avoiding boiling.
  2. Sift 1 to 1½ teaspoons of matcha powder into a bowl or mixing cup.
  3. Pour the hot water over the matcha powder and whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion with a matcha whisk or small kitchen whisk until smooth and frothy, about 15-20 seconds.
  4. Stir in ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract and sweetener if using.
  5. Fill a serving glass with ice cubes.
  6. Slowly pour 1 cup (240 ml) of cold creamy oat milk over the ice.
  7. Gently pour the whisked matcha mixture over the oat milk; stir lightly or leave layered.
  8. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon to mix before sipping.

Notes

Use ceremonial-grade matcha powder for best flavor and vibrant color. Avoid boiling water to prevent bitterness. Barista-style oat milk provides creamier texture. Adjust sweetener to taste or omit for low-sugar option. Whisk vigorously to avoid clumps and create froth. Prepare matcha fresh for best flavor; refrigerate matcha mixture up to one day if needed.
