Ingredients

  • Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • Sliced deli meats (salami, pepperoni, ham, turkey, or prosciutto)

  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Egg wash (1 egg whisked with a splash of water)
  • Italian seasoning (or oregano or garlic powder)
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 12″x16″.
  3. Layer the fillings: mozzarella cheese, deli meats, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  4. Roll the dough tightly into a log, starting from one long side, and pinch the seams and ends closed to seal.
  5. Place the stromboli seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Brush the top and sides of the stromboli with egg wash using a pastry brush.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and firm to the touch.
  8. Let the stromboli rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

[‘Don’t overload the fillings to ensure proper rolling and sealing.’, ‘Seal the edges tightly to prevent leaks during baking.’, ‘Use cold fillings to avoid making the dough soggy.’, ‘Slice with a serrated knife for clean, even portions.’, ‘Prep ahead by assembling the stromboli earlier in the day and refrigerating until ready to bake.’]
